Welcome to the Fez Wiki
Fez is a PHP / MySQL front end to the Fedora repository software. It is developed by the University of Queensland Library as an open source project hosted on SourceForge. There are mailing lists, forums and download links on the SourceForge site.

Fez 2.1 Release Candidate 3 Released
The Fez Development Team is pleased to announce the release of Fez 2.1 (RC3). This release supports Fedora 2.2.x - including Fedora 2.2.4. Roughly 12 months of new functionality has gone into this release. Here are some of the highlights:
- Complete graphical user interface overhaul
- Apache Solr support for faster browsing & searching - easily handles 100,000+ objects (Thanks Kai@ETH)
- Search faceting and full-text document search
- New controlled vocabularies, including SEO 2008, and Fields of Research (FOR)
- EXIF tool integration
- Origami image viewer for easy image inspection (Thanks Keith@CARL)
- Session database support
- Lots of new workflows
- Refined content models
- Custom views support
- Performance tweaks and bug fixes
- Major clean-up of templates, CSS, and AJAX components
- New display modes, including image gallery
- Ad-hoc SQL engine for running workflows on arbitrary groups of records
- ORCA feed support
- Versioning GUI (Thanks Lynette@NSDL)
- Handles feed support (Thanks Peter@CDU)
